L'héritage Français

La France ne lance plus les modes comme autrefois. Sur ce pays ont longtemps flotté les drapeaux de l'innovation, de l'ingéniosité et des arts mais, aujourd'hui, la France peut difficilement se targuer d'avoir un écrivain ou un peintre célèbre. Cependant, la génération du XXIe siècle bénéficie de l'impressionnant héritage culturel et artistique des générations précédentes.Il existe des musées, galeries d'art et expositions qui attirent non seulement des millions de touristes chaque année mais aussi des visiteurs vivant localement. Parmi les principaux musées que chacun se doit de ! visiter au moins une fois dans sa vie se trouve bien entendu Le Louvre. Le temps semble s'y être arrêté et les visiteurs peuvent remonter l'histoire à travers des objets, peintures et sculptures provenant de la Rome Antique ou de Mésopotamie. Au Louvre le présent ne rencontre pas seulement le passé mais aussi le futur pour offrir à ses visiteurs une expérience unique.Actuellement au Louvre se déroule des expositions thématiques comme Joseph Kosuth, ni Apparence ni illusion; d'Izmir à Smyrne, découverte d'une cité antique; Le Louvre invite Umberto Eco : "Mille e tre"; Battista Franco, peintre vénitien à la Cour d'Italie; une passion pour Delacroix : la collection Karen B. Cohen. Il existe aussi de multiples activités proposées pour mieux découvrir le musée comme "la nature morte en Europe du Nord" ou le parcours "mise en scène et symbolisme" qui comprend une visite depuis! la Pyramide à l'aile Richelieu à travers le large e! scalier mécanique sur la droite menant au deuxième étage, suivie d'un parcours des trois premières salles (peinture française), puis des galeries supérieures de peinture d'Europe du Nord.On peut aussi admirer des collections rares au Grand Palais (du 13 janvier au 21 février, événement Monumenta 2010), au Musée Maillol (du 3 février au 28 juin, C'est la vie - vanités de Caravage à Damien Hirst), au Musée d'Orsay (du 15 mars au 27 juin, Crime et châtiment de Goya à Picasso) mais aussi sur les expositions en plein air sur les Champs Elysées, les bords de Seine ou au Champ de Mars.

Publicis se concentre sur le numérique

A Jouy-en-Josas se tient actuellement la conférence annuelle du MEDEF (Mouvement des entreprises de France). Maurice Lévy, président directeur général du Groupe Publicis, qui comme société de publicité multinationale s'étend dans le monde entier, a déclaré que Publicis faisait des percées dans sa stratégie depuis l'an dernier. La crise a causé la stagnation voire la chute des revenus de la plupart des sociétés - Publicis n'y a pas échappé. Sa perte annuelle a été de 6% de ses revenus. Lévy a déclaré que juin avait été le pire, même si les mois su! ivants ont montré quelques signes d'amélioration. La société a décidé de changer de clients et de se concentrer sur les produits numériques et la technologie. Ce changement a été d'après Lévy "énorme". Publicis est une corporation opérant avec des sociétés comme Leo Burnett Worldwide, Saatchi&Saatchi, Digitas, Phonevalley, Bartle Bogle Hegarty et beaucoup d'autres. Elle a ajouté Razorfish à son portfolio en 2009. Microsoft, récent acquéreur, l'a vendu pour près de 350 milliards de dollars en liquidité et actions. 3% de Publicis sont maintenant détenus par Microsoft, mais selon Lévy, cela a une "influence nulle" sur la politique de la société, ses décisions, stratégie ou gestion financière. Publicis n'a pas fait l'offre la plus élevée pour Razorfish, mais a été la société qui a montré le plus clair int&! #233;rêt pour les actions qui ont été acquises ! par Micr osoft. Lévy a suggéré que derrière cet argent existait également l'intérêt qu'a Microsoft d'améliorer sa place sur le marché, devenant le premier client de Publicis. Publicis offre un large gamme de produits dans le domaine du marketing et de la publicité comme des études sociologiques et psychologiques, étude de marché et idées créatives. Elle se spécialise aussi bien dans les pratiques traditionnelles de publicité que dans celles plus avant-gardistes.

L'INSEAD ou Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires est l'une des meilleures écoles de commerce internationales au monde. L'INSEAD avec des campus à Fontainebleau (près de Paris), Singapour et Abu Dhabi représente une institution à part. Avec un centre de recherche basé en Israël et des bureaux aux Etats Unis, elle couvre pratiquement le monde entier et va ainsi dans le sens de sa philosophie de base. L'école vient de fêter son cinquantième anniversaire, ce qui représente une "étape significative" pour toute insttitution. Malgré la crise financière Frank Brown a déclaré qu'il existe "toujours beaucoup de demande pour notre programme" (particulièrement aux Etats-Unis et Canada) et que c'est pourquoi ils "s'apprêtent à célébrer dignement l'événement et attendent avec impatience ! le prochain demi-siècle." Dans des périodes aussi difficiles que celles que nous traversons, Brown nous recommande de ne pas trop penser à l'argent que l'on pourrait gagner, mais à l'impact et l'influence qu'auront nos activités comme nous-même sur la société. La pierre angulaire de la philosophie de Brown comme de l'INSEAD est : "entourez-vous de personnes d'horizon différent et aux talents différents des vôtres et écoutez-les." Selon Frank Brown, la principale qualité d'un bon meneur d'hommes est de bien savoir écouter, en laissant les autres aider et participer à la résolution du problème. Voyager, essayer de comprendre le monde et son fonctionnement sont les fondements d'une bonne personne, d'un manager ou d'un chef d'état. "Tout commerce ou société est au moins multinational si ce n'est mondial" et le manque de connaissances des autres cultures et de leur façon de p! enser peut conduire au désastre. Et d'ajouter : "Le temps! où les meneurs étaient tout puissants et savaient tout est révolu"

GEOX croit que l'idée fait une différence

De nos jours les travaux manuel ont presque disparu du monde occidental. La crise globale actuelle est sert d'un appel de se réveiller pour des gouvernements. Pour se tenir sur ce qui s'est conservé dans leur héritage industriel ils devraient abandonner le protectionnisme. Les compagnies avec les produits à bas prix sont toujours dans le jeu et les autres doivent les battre en développant les nouveaux produits plus créateurs qui vaudront la peine d'un prix plus élevé. Mario Moretti Polegato, le fondateur et président de GEOX, est parvenu à développer des affaires croissantes juste en quelques années. La compagnie de GEOX est basée en Italie du Nord. Le nom de marque se compose de deux éléments. « Geo » vient à l'origine du mot grecque geo, et la lettre "X" symbolise la technologie. Geox a inventé la nouvelle technologie, les trous minuscules à l'embase du pied ! permet à des pieds de respirer en laissant l'air circuler dedans tout en enpêchant d'entrer l'humidité. GEOX a de la réussite parce qu'il investit dans le design et l'invention. Il a des magasins dans 69 pays dans le monde entier. 3 pour cent de revenu GEOX investisse à la recherche. La base de GEOX est placée en Italie du Nord, près de Venise et elle emploie 750 personnes âgées de 20 à 39 ans ou même plus vieilles. Polegato indique que GEOX était probablement la plus jeune compagnie de l'Europe affirmant que les 90 pour cent de ses employés sont diplômés à l'université. Polegato pense que la seule manière comment concurrencer les compagnies asiatiques est d'être créateur et il ajoute que une bonne idée fait une différence. Toute l'idée de GEOX est inclue dans le brevet. Les compagnies souvent ne veulent pas investir dans le brevet en prétendant que! la Chine la copierait de toute façon. Mais GEOX a fait l! e brevet également en Chine et personne ne peut le copier. GEOX a même 20 magasins en Chine. La plupart de chaussures de GEOX ne sont pas fabriquées en Italie. Quoique l'invention soit maintenue dans la base d'origine, les chaussures sont produites en Europe, en Asie et au Brésil.

Microsoft's Windows 7!

Today there are billion of people using Windows, what represents about 80 percent of computers in the world. Arguing about popularity and huge success of this operating system would be therefore worthless. The question is how long will Microsoft hold its monopoly? International news television channel France 24 talked to Jean-Philippe Courtois, the President of Microsoft International about future steps of this multinational corporation. Good news is that Microsoft is continuing with innovations. Their latest release of another version of Microsoft Windows – version 7 is considered to be one of the best operating systems made so far. Windows 7 can be used on all PC machines, even the older ones bought two or three years ago. As Courtois said space of 1 GB is enough. Features of Windows 7 are making it the best system ever made. First of all, Windows 7 is fast. “It takes a few second just to open your PC, bring it to life and get it back to sleep” said Court! ois. Second, it is incredibly secure on any platform available in the world. Another feature which would be useful for the users is its great using interface. It will enable you to see and also use all open windows without closing the others (you would be able to see behind them). It is known that Microsoft is doing business in many other spheres and so it is “offering consumers much more choice.” For instance, Microsoft’s search engine Bing is rather small, but slowly growing investment. By the words of Courtois, Bing is “innovating in a way you actually search to get the information.” If the innovations are satisfactory enough to face the strong competition from Apple and Google, the customers will have to tell.

Bernanke Should Not be Confirmed!

The name Ben Bernanke is known in America for many reasons. First of all this American economist was a chairman of President Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers and in 2006 he was appointed as a member of the Federal Reserve of Governors. To a four-year term he was appointed also as its Chairman. During his first term the Federal Reserve experienced its largest increase of power since 1913 when it was created. Now when Ben Bernanke won confirmation for a second term, he has to face sharp attacks and criticism. These sharp attacks point at his role before the 2008 financial meltdown and its aftermath. While his supporters say Bernanke pulled the American economy back f! rom the brink of a collapse, others charged that he had crafted disastrous economic policies and missed the signs of coming crisis. One of the biggest Bernanke’s critics, independent Senator Bernie Sanders, argues that Senate shouldn’t give a second chance to a man who failed and led one of the strongest world’s economies to the crisis. Bernanke was accused as a key author of a hugely unpopular Wall Street bailout and a supporter of excessive government intervention in the US economy. In spite of these attacks, the US Senate voted 70-30 to approve Bernanke as a Fed’s chairman. While vultures are sharpening their nebs, Obama is satisfied because: “while the worst of the storm has passed, its devastation remains and we have a lot of work to do to rebuild our economy.” Whereas some take this situation serious, some of Bernanke’s foes are making jokes and poke fun at Time magazine’s decision to anoint him its 2009 “Person of! the Year”.

408 exposé à Pékin

Lundi le constructeur d'automobiles français principal Peugeot n'a dévoilé qu'un nouveau modèle de voiture, mais également certains des projets pour 2010 : l'augmentation des ventes par 30 pour cent sur le marché de la Chine. La Chine s'est rapidement développée et transformée en un des marchés les plus attrayants du monde dû au taux rapidement croissant et le fait qu'il a la population la plus nombreuse du monde. Google, Microsoft, Apple, General Motors, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, comme beaucoup d'autres marques célèbres ont dirigé leurs forces pour conqué! rir le marché fertile qui n'est qu'au niveau initial du développement du pays dans une puissance économique globale. Peugeot n'est aucune exception parmi les autres fabricants de voitures qui espèrent voir le bénéfice vennant d'Asie pendant que les ventes au marché ont tombé par 21% aux États-unis, alors que sur le marché automobile de la Chine elles se sont développé de 45% en 2009. Après l'embauchage d'une association en 2003 avec un fabricant local de voiture, le Dongfeng Motor, Peugeot est parvenu non seulement à augmenter des ventes, mais à s'étant établi également comme une marque distinctive et élégante. La poursuite pour réaliser du succès et pour gagner de la bienveillance de la Chine, Peugeot ainsi que le Dongfeng Motor a créé le modèle 307 qui convient aux idées chinoises des modèles aux ! divers degrés pour le marché local. Comme idée ! s'est mo ntrée être brillante et a atteint un record en ventes de véhicules (410.000) en 2009, l'entreprise en participation a lancé cette année à l'exposition d'automobiles de Pékin le toute neuve berline 408. Le modèle est une berline de long-empattement qui peut inclure des modèles à trois et cinq portes de chariot, les coupe-convertibles et la station avec hayon arrière. En raison de la crise économique un aspect important est la base consomation du gaz : moteurs à l'essence de 1.6 litre et de 2.0 litres.

La crise semble frapper tout le monde sauf Google. Cette société cotée américaine a publié jeudi un résultat trimestriel net multiplié par 5 représentant 1,97 milliard de dollars. En tournant le dos à la crise et en confrontant les censeurs Chinois, ils sont redevenus les rois du marché. Cette prise de risque a été rentable puisqu'elle a rapporté à Google un résultat annuel net de 6,52 milliards de dollars soit une augmentation de 54%. Google a également enregistré une augmentation des "clicks payants" sur les annonces publicitaires postées sur ses propriétés en ligne. Cette ! augmentation de 13% est un signe positif non seulement pour l'économie mais aussi pour les autres sociétés de l'Internet. Malgré son extraordinaire succès, Eric Schmidt, le directeur général de Google reste modeste et comprend que "l'ensemble de l'économie n'en est qu'aux premiers pas dans sa guérison." D'un autre côté, ils sont "extrêmement optimistes à propos d'Internet" et veulent poursuivre leurs investissements dans l'innovation technologique. Après une longue période de serrage de ceinture, c'est le bon moment pour acquérir de nouvelles sociétés et technologies. Avec 24,5 milliards de dollars en trésorerie, des équivalents en trésorerie et des titres négociables à court terme, cela ne sera pas un problème. Cependant près de 53% des revenus de Google de ce trimestre proviennent de l'extérieur des Etats Unis. Cela rend Google plus prudent qua! nt à sa menace de se retirer de Chine à cause de la ! censure en ligne ce qui était une condition légale lorsque Google a conçu son moteur de recherche en 2006. Parce que le cyber-espionnage a ciblé Google et d'autres sociétés, la fermeture du moteur de recherche de Google en Chine est bien-fondée. Les analystes se demandent quel en sera l'impact sur les résultats et autres cours de Google là-bas.

Apple en croissance l'an passé

Pour le dernier trimestre de 2009, il ne fait aucun doute que la société californienne Apple se porte plus que bien. Selon son rapport d'activité, ses revenus sont en augmentation de 11,88 milliards de dollars à 15,68 milliards. La principale raison en est l'iPhone. La société a connu une progression des ventes continue dans 86 pays, dont la Chine avec plus de 200 000 unités vendues depuis la fin Octobre. Si l'on regarde combien de produits Apple a réussi à vendre, l'entreprise avance les chiffres suivants : 3,36 million d'ordinateurs Macintosh (dont une majorité de portables), 8,7 millions d'iPhones et 21 millions d'iPods. ! Le nombre d'ordinateurs est en croissance de 33%, celui des iPhones a augmenté de 100% et les iPods ont reculé de 21%. La principale source de revenus de la société devient alors claire. L'iPhone a littéralement découvert des marchés partout en Occident. Mais les nouveaux produits sont en attente. Mercredi la démonstration de promotion est sur le point de commencer. Le produit est un genre d'iPhone ordinateur appelé "tablette". Il ne s'agit pas d'un équipement dédié aux concepteurs graphiques, mais d'une petite télé combinée à un moteur de recherche puis lecteur audio et vidéo qui peut aussi être utilisé pour la lecture de livres électroniques. Fondamentalement il n'y a rien de nouveau mais ce qu'Apple fait différemment est son marketing. La société peut promouvoir le moindre changement dans son équipement ou ses logiciels, elle peut en faire la publicit&#! 233; et la promotion. Le succès dépasse les espé! ;rances. Alors, même si vous savez que vous n'avez pas besoin d'une tablette, parce que vous avez déjà un de ces airbooks, vous serez ébloui ou juste ravi par son style et le sentiment d'un excellent service. Steve Jobs, le Président-Directeur Général de la société, a déclaré qu'une large gamme de produits attendait d'être mis sur le marché cette année, mais il a ajouté que ce serait une surprise pour tout le monde.

Je to hybrid – kombinácia iPhone s notebookom.iPad vznikol po uvedení iSlate a iTablet – je to jednoliaty počítač s relatívne veľkou dotykovou obrazovkou (25cm). Nezatvára sa, neo! bsahuje žiadne prídavky – na veľkej obrazovke sa dajú pozerať filmy, surfovať po webe, počúvať hudba, čítať elektronické knihy. Ale toto všetko ste už počuli. Skúsme pridať niekoľko technických parametrov. Zariadenie operuje na 1GHz procesore, poskytuje pamäť d 16 do 64 GB. Disponuje Wi-Fi, bluetooth a 3G napojením. Dnes ho podporuje menej ako 50 percent Američanov, a z toho ešte menej skutočne verí, že má možnosť a schopnosť čokoľvek zmeniť. Ovácie a stále rovnako veľká podpora od Demokratov, zato však čoraz viac posmeškov zo strany Republikánov. On sa však nezdáva. Jeho slogan „ÁNO, MÔŽEME!“ sľuboval zmenu. A práve túžba po zmene bola jedným z dôvodov jeho víťazstva. Barack Obama ! povedal: „Práve teraz viem, že je veľa Američanov, ktorí si už nie sú istí, či majú stále veriť, že niečo zmeníme – alebo aspoň, že ja to môžem dodržať!“ No krátko nato dodal: „Nikdy som nebol optimistickejší a plnší nádeje v lepšiu Americkú budúcnosť ako som dnes večer!“ Ako tiež Obama povedal, nehodlá sa vzdať svojej snahy o schválenie vyčerpávajúcej reformy zdravotnej starostlivosti. Nádej na zmenu je tak podľa Obamu stále živá, nakoľko „Amerika zvíťazila pretože sa rozhodla vykročiť vpred ako jeden národ, ako jeden ľud. Znova je skúšaná. A znova musí odpovedať volaniu svojej minulosti.“ Nanešťastie tu nejde už len o boj proti nezamestnanosti. Oveľa dôležitejšie je znovu získanie autority a vodcovstva prezidenta Spojených štátov amerických.

Publicis didn't offer the highest price for Razorfish, but was the one who offered clear stock interest which was taken by Microsoft. Levy suggested that behind the money there was also Microsoft's interest to improve the market position, becoming the top client of Publicis.Publicis offers wide variety of advertising, marketing products such as sociological and psychological studies, market research and creative insight. With research center in Israel and office in the United States it is connecting nearly the whole world, and so contributes to fulfilling its basic philosophy. The school just celebrated its 50th anniversary what is “significant milestone” for any institution. In spite of the financial crisis Frank Brown said there is “still lot of demand for the program” (especially from North America and Canada) and that’s why they are “looking forward to a wonderful celebration and looking forward for another fifty years.” In the times hard like these Brown recommends not thinking about how much money we could make, but what impact and! influence on the society will we and our activities have? The basic philosophy not only Brown’s but INSEAD’s as well is: “surround yourself with people from very different perspectives, people that have different strengths than you do and listen to them.” According to Frank Brown the most important attribute of a leader is to be a good listener, who let others to help and participate on solving the problem. Traveling, trying to understand the world and the way it works, those are the basis of a good person, executive or national leader. “All business is at least multinational if not global” and lack of perspectives of other cultures and ways of thinking can lead to disaster. As he added: “The days of leaders as being the all knowing and totally commanding are gone.”

On Monday Peugeot introduced the new car model designed especially for the Chinese market. At the Beijing Motor Show the major French automaker unveiled also that the company’s target for 2010 is to increase sales by another 30 percent on China market. Chinese market has been in the focus for several years now, which led to the signing of a partnership with a local carmaker Dongfeng Motor in 2003. In order to conquer the Chinese consumers, the joint venture came up with the idea of a car model that would take in various degrees Chinese ideas and styles. The best models that managed to achieve succ! ess on the Chinese market were the notchback version of the 307 sedan and the 307 saloon. Both models made the brand more appealing to the Chinese customers which reflected in the last year’s record sales of 410,000 vehicles Peugeot like many other Western and Japanese car manufacturers see salvation in China’s explosive development as on US market as well as on the European markets sales have either stagnated or fell due to the economic crisis. Consequently, together with Dongfeng Motor, the French automaker created a new model designed especially for the Chinese market and following the model of the 307 notchback that focuses on visual appeal, interior space and modern design. In front of the journalists present at the event held in Beijing, the new Peugeot DF 408 was unveiled as half-height architecture notch-back saloon, 4.63 meters in length, featuring a large sunroof and a self-contained! trunk. It is currently the longest wheelbase C-segment vehic! le thus offering spaciousness and the exterior makes the 408 a high-class car, elegant, but also business-like. Safety is very important for the Chinese consumer and was also important in the creation of the 408 sedan that includes 6 airbags, three-point safety belts, an audible and visual warning system and front and rear headrests.

What is coming right now is basically nothing new, it is a hybrid between iPhone and notebook.iPad is also a mixture of iSlate and iTablet, it is the first one piece device containing 25 cm fully touch sensible screen. No keyboards, no additions. Everything is managed with the fingers.Good for watching movies, listening the music, read electronic books, browsing the internet. But you have heard that ! already. Let's add some more technical parameters – the device operate with 1GHz processor contains from 16GB up to 64GB storage memory and offers some real new applications. Device has a Wi-Fi, bluetooth and 3G connection, the graphic remains on PS2 level and is acceptable for game players.iTunes includes iWork and iPhoto, the brand new thing is the iBooks that sells the books the same way iTunes does with the movies and the music. The whole product is no thicker than 1.25 cm and weighs 0.7 kg. It contains speaker and microphone, accelerometer and compass. The prices in the U.S are set up at $499 for 16GB of flash memory up to $829 for 64 GB. The international prices should reach the market before July.According Apple CEO Steve Jobs, the new era of multi-touch computers is about to begin, the question remains whether Apple will do enough to make iPad profitable. There are iPhones and computers holding the company's profits. iPods and iTunes are on decline.

Still the same promises?

Something what looked like fame or popularity tumbled from stratospheric heights along with his ratings. Now less than 50 percent of Americans is supporting him and still less of them think he has a power to change the things. Standing ovations and still the same, big support is coming from Democrats. Republicans on the other hand are jeering. However he is not giving it up. His slogan “YES, WE CAN!” was promising change, and was probably one of the reasons of his victory. Barack Obama said: “Right now, I know there are many Americans who aren’t sure if they still believe we can change – or at least that I can deliver it.” But shortly aft! er he added, “I have never been more hopeful about America’s future than I am tonight.” Obama is not going to give up of his stalled effort to pass comprehensive health care reform. And as it seems he is going to give up his promises neither. The amount of 30 billion dollars from Wall Street bailout fund was promised to help small businesses. Fighting unemployment is the top priority. Obama expects from the US government to double US exports in five years to create more jobs. The change should come also to the US military. Obama said he would work with Congress to repeal the law banning gays from serving openly in the US army. The hope for change is still alive as “America prevailed because we chose to move forward as one nation, as one people. Again, we are tested. And again, we must answer history’s call.” Unfortunately, it is not only about fighting unemployment. It is mostly about showing leadership and restoring authority of presiden! t of the USA.

Google's success!

Crisis hits everyone except Google. This American public corporation posted on Thursday a five-fold rise in quarterly net profit what represents 1.97 billion dollars. By turning its back on the crisis and facing off with Chinese censors they became a king again. All that risk was worth it as it brought to Google annual net profit of 6.52 billion dollars which represents 54 percent increase. Google also noticed increase in “paid clicks” on ads posted at its online properties. This increase represents 13 percent what is a good sign not only for economy but also other Internet companies. In spite of this extraordinary success Google chief executive Eric Schmidt is ! modest and understands that “global economy is still in the early days of recovery.” On the other hand they are “hugely optimistic about Internet” and they want to continue with investing in technological innovation. After the long season of belt-tightening there is ripe time to acquire new companies or technologies. With 24.5 billion dollars in cash, some cash equivalents and short-term marketable securities it will not be a problem. However about 53 percent of Google’s revenue for the quarter came from outside the USA. That makes Google more careful about threat to pull out of China over online censorship which was a legal condition when Google tailored a search engine there in 2006. Because of cyber espionage targeted Google and some other firms, Google has a good case for shutting down its search engine in China. Analysts wonder what will this mean to the firm’s profits and other offerings there.

As for the final quarter of 2009, there is no doubt that Californian based Apple did more than very well. According its report the revenue rose from $11.88 billion to 15.68 billion.The major cause were iPhones. The company was continuously expanding its sales in 86 countries including China with more than 200,000 items sold since the end of October.Let's see how many products could Apple sell. Company said it was 3.36 million Macintosh computers (with the majority of notebooks), 8.7 million iPhones and 21 million iPods. Computers rose 33 percent, iPhones grew up 100 percent and iPods slid 21 percent. Now it's become clear what is company's major business. iPhones items lite! rally discovered markets all over western world. But the new products are awaiting. On Wednesday the promotion show is about to happen. The item is iPhone like computer called “tablet”. It is not a device used for graphic designers, but the small Tv, internet browser, film and music player and it is used for reading e-books. Basically it is nothing new, but what makes Apple different is its marketing. The company can promote even the slightest change in hardware or software, it can advertise it and promote. The success is more than expected. So although you know you don't need tablet, because you already have some of airbooks, you will feel amazed or pleased by design and the feeling of great service. Steve Jobs, the company CEO said there was a strong line of products waiting to come into the market this year, but he added, it would be a surprise for everyone.

The major French automaker Peugeot unveiled on Monday not only a new car model, but also some of the goals for 2010: to increase sales by another 30 percent on China market. China has rapidly developed and turned into one of the most attractive markets in the world due to its high grow rate and the fact that it has the most numerous population in the world. Google, Microsoft, Apple, General Motors, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, as well as many other famous brands have set their eyes on conquering the fertile market that it is still in the early stages of the development of the country into a global economic power. ! Peugeot is no different from other car manufacturers that are hoping to see salvation coming from Asia as sales fell 21% on US market, while on China’s car market they grew by 45% in 2009. After striking a partnership in 2003 with a local car maker, Dongfeng Motor, Peugeot managed not only to increase sales, but also to establish as a distinctive and stylish brand. Pursuing to achieve success and earn China’s benevolence, Peugeot together with Dongfeng Motor created the 307 model which takes in various degrees Chinese ideas and styles for the local market. As the idea proved to be brilliant and got record sales of 410,000 vehicles in 2009, the joint venture launched this year at the Beijing Motor Show the all-new 408 sedan. The model is a long-wheelbase sedan that can include three and five-door hatchback, coupe-convertible and station wagon styles. Because of the economic crisis an important aspect is the small gas consume: 1.6-liter an! d 2.0-liter gasoline engines.

Across time there were many false alarms like that together with the invention of newspapers the writing of books will become an ancient art or that together with the invention of the cinema, the theatre will be turned into a relic. Nonetheless, they were all false alarms as people still write books and theatres are full of spectators. The Internet and the computer also stirred many controversies as it challenged all areas from books to cinema, music. After clearing up the fact that books are still read, even if they are read on-line or not and that people still go to the cinema even if from time to time they prefer to watch a mo! vie on the computer, now there is a problem that has been delving in silence for a long time and turned into a crisis: “the press crisis” as Raphael Kahane says in introducing the interview with Axel Ganz, Founder and former President of Prisma Presse Group. Axel Ganz speaks about the Forum d’Avignon where personalities gather to discuss about issues in economy, media and culture. This year the media will be in the centre of attention as there is an economy crisis and the Internet imposes new targets, new desires, and new standards. However, the media reader, the reader in the Internet era is used to have free access to everything, while raising the standards and requesting innovation in order to not switch to the competition. Consequently, the websites must respond to demands and costs increase which raises the issue to make access to the on-line newspapers on a fee basis. Advertising.You can't get rid of it no matter what you do. It is everywhere and somehow we have attached it to our civilization. But still, it is a field not older than a century. Its roots began somewhere in the point when the prices stabilized and the market price talks were of no more use. Sellers wanted to make their goods somehow different from the goods of the others. Here we come to the very beginning of the cover and branding industry. Since the price was regulated, the product had to be looking attractive. The amount of money spent on advertising was increasing from year to year. Last decade saw a storming effort to promote and sell via selling.But this point may b! e the breaking point.Social analyst suggest people may be no longer reacting to the advertising chaos surrounding us everywhere. We may be becoming more intact. And therefor it needs to be invented more effective way of selling goods.The crisis speeded up this need. Many people became more careful about what they were going to buy and many of them didn't react to even 50 percent sale discounts. That was a challenge for marketing business. Many of the companies ended up in bankruptcy, many of them tightened their budgets and many of them cancelled their marketing departments. That is the situation.What is the upcoming result? Less of indirect advertising. Print and web advertising may seen as bothering. But the most important is the personal experience. There is a huge group of customers buying the goods just because of their friends or family. Still this is the most traditional way of selling. Selling via network of close friends. Companies are changing strategies and spend! more money on direct product selling, promoting, event making! . While preparing small festival (it can be a concert or community event) for customers, there is always a place to sell the products.Psychologists suggest the human contact behind the product is more valuable and trusty than the image or bulletin or web browsing.So here we come into the crossroad – internet sale is increasing, but most of the products are electronics and music. The rest of it – the daily goods like clothes, food, furniture must be seen and touched by hand. And companies start to follow.

GEOX believes idea makes the difference

Nowadays manufacturing jobs are disappearing from Western world. The current global crisis is serving as a wake up call for governments. To hold on what is left in their industrial heritage they have had to retired to protectionism. Companies with low-price products are still in the game and other need beat them by developing new creative products that will be worth of higher price. Mario Moretti Polegato, founder and President of GEOX, managed to develop a growing business in only few years time. GEOX company is based in northern Italy. The brand name consists of two elements. “Geo” originally comes from Greek word geo, which means earth and letter “x” symbolizes technology. Geox invented brand new technology, tiny holes in bottom of sole allows feet to breathe by letting air circulate in while keeping moisture out. GEOX is successful because it invests in both design and invention. It has stores in 69 countries worldwide. 3 percent of income! GEOX invests in research. The base of GEOX is placed in northern Italy, close to Venice and it employs 750 people aged from 20 to 39 or even older. Polegato says that GEOX was probably the youngest company in Europe saying that 90 percent of its employees are University graduates. Polegato thinks that the only way how to compete with Asian companies is to be creative and he adds that idea made a difference. All idea of GEOX is inc luded in the patent. Companies often don't wanna invest in patent saying that China would copy it anyway. But GEOX made patent also in China and no one can copy it. GEOX even has 20 stores in China. Most of GEOX shoes are not made in Italy. Even though the invention is kept in home base, shoes are produced in East Europe, Asia and Brazil.

Dutch Spyker is buying GM's Saab brand

Spyker, the Dutch company manufacturing cars, is about to buy General's Motor's luxury brand Saab. The transaction which is planned for middle of February should save employees' jobs and secure a good future for Saab. Tuesday General Motors announced that they are selling its Saab brand to luxury sport car manufacturer Spyker. John Smith, vice president of General Motors for corporate planning and alliances, stated that the transaction is the best for Saab employees, dealers, suppliers and Saab customers and fans over the world. Smith really believes that the transaction is the best way how of protecting Saab brand in the future. GM, Spyker Cars and the Swedish government worked hard to come to a deal that would protect Saab in future, Smith added. However, Spyker did not confirmed or at least commented the deal. GM said that companies agreed that Spyker will create a new company called Saab Spyker Automobiles that will seal the Saab unique and iconic brand. GM pre! viously announced that Saab will have to slow down the production, but thanks to the transaction such move will not happen. Spyker's shares rose more than 60 percent from Monday to Tuesday when gained 2.84 percent. GM had negotiated with several parties over the past few years, but the negotiations had never ended in satisfying conclusions. Today General Motors said that they are very pleased that they found a solution that will avoid a wind down of the brand and save jobs in Sweden and elsewhere. GM added that it would support Saab and Spyker in the future.
