Publicis Focusing on Digital.
by Milota Sidorova

Jouy-en Josas is holding the Annual Conference of French Employers Confederation (MEDEF).Maurice Levy, Chief Executive Officer of Publicis Group that is French based multinational advertising company expanding all over the world said Publicis was going through some breaking-points in its strategy since the last year. The crisis caused the stagnation or decline in revenues of most of the companies – Publicis made no difference. It annual loss was about 6 percent of the revenue. Levy said the worst month was June, although the upcoming months showed some signs the situation was getting better. The company decided to change the clients and focused on digital goods and tec! hnology. The change was according to Levy “huge”. Publicis is a corporation operating with such companies like Leo Burnett Worldwide, Saatchi &Saatchi, Digitas, Phonevallye, Barle Bogle Hegarty and many others. It added Razorfish into its portfolio in 2009. Microsoft, the recent owner sold it for $530 billion in cash and stocks. 3 percent of Publicis is now owned by Microsoft, but according to Levy there it has “zero influence” on company's policy, decision making, strategies and finance managing. Publicis didn't offer the highest price for Razorfish, but was the one who offered clear stock interest which was taken by Microsoft. Levy suggested that behind the money there was also Microsoft's interest to improve the market position, becoming the top client of Publicis.Publicis offers wide variety of advertising, marketing products such as sociological and psychological studies, market research and creative insight. It specializes on traditional, but a! lso on alternative advertising practices.
