Where is the crisis?
by Barbora Misakova

About the situation in the U.S. knows probably every one. Recession and ailing economy make problems everywhere, not only in the America, and to be honest, write about it every day is really boring. People already know about it, and sometimes it even seems to me like they get used on it, at least a little bit. Oil and the basic groceries are more expensive, everyone is murmuring and complaining. On the other hand, the things we actually don't necessarily need (such as computers, mobile phones etc.) are cheaper. Anyway, the most funny thing on this all is the fact that people are buying it. Because if we don't have any bread and milk, we can at least call each other spread that information. I know I am making jokes from things which aren't funny at all. But that's the truth. Computer business is still blossoming. The bright example is Intel Corporation – the world's largest company and the inventor of microprocessors used in most personal computers. While lot of big companies have real problems and there is threat of bankrupt hanging over them, Intel on the contrary is enjoying really good times. Their second-quarter profit which is 25 percent higher helped the company cruise Wall Street's estimates and the whole thanks go to the laptop chips. As said Intel CEO Paul Otellini the demand is very strong, and not only in the U.S. but in all parts of the globe – three-quarters of the company's business is outside the U.S.! Now I am not surprised at all that Intel shares rose 23 cents to $20.94. In the last three-month period Intel's net income represents $1.6 billion, while sales themselves represent amount between $10 billion and $10.6 billion. So where is that notorius financial crisis?
