Russian nano-technology vision

As announced, Californian governor Arnold Schwarznegger is heading to Russia this week. He brings along several CEOs from the most important American technology companies. They are heading to the one of Moscow's outskirts – Skolkovo that has been chosen as Russian tech hub of new period. The visit comes as a counter movement after President Medvedev visited Californian Sillicon Valley early summer. This time the U.S. group comes to see and inspect „Russia“ on its own. Theories behind this move are different, but it seems apparent that Medvedev wants to attract American investors who are now mainly focused on their Asian, mostly Chinese partners. Should th! is be another world manufacture or another place for technology inventions? That would mean two different places on two different economies and managements. But it is apparent that there are investments focused on Skolkovo, so far its creation has been headed by energy and metals tycoon Viktor Vekselberg and there are also $10 billion aimed to innovation investment fund Rusnano. Rusnano has been founded back in 2007 and is a non-profit state owned corporation focused on commercializing developments in nanotechnology. One of its aims is to create a nano-industry that will pour a huge amount of money into the national economy. Rusnano run by Anatoly Chubais, currently ranked 54th most respected businessman is currently funding around 90 hi-tech international (mean Russian-foreign) projects. As announced one of the obstables and also reasons for personal visit is the factor of huge corruption in Russian business environment. Some media compare it to China that although it i! s not democratical has some solid law basement.
