US airports
by kristina leskova

The Thanksgiving Day is coming and people think about holidays. Many of them work in one city and when they want to visit their families they have to travel into another city. The most comfortable mean of transport is a plane. Mostly used for long distances. Travelling by a plane is safe and sometimes very quickly. But sometimes if there are many people who want to travel there can be a delay and your journey will take longer time than you expected. The passengers feel nervous and blame the airlines. But you cannot always imagine what everything happens on the airport. Especially on the biggest airports. Even if there is crisis and it is expected that fewer people will trav! el, you have to count with some delay especially if you plan to land near New York City. There are three airports that belong among worst in on-time arrivals. We speak LaGuardia airport, Newark Liberty International and JFK International airport. But for these airports it is usual that every 40 or 50 seconds there is some takeoff or landing. And people who have to control the planes cannot speak so quickly and give them instruction which runway is free. And this leads to delays. Due to the financial crisis people travel less and that means fewer delays. But it is expected that economy will recover and what will happen then? The airlines search for some solution but this is not very easy. There have to be built new runways but unfortunately such expansion is not planned for New York. So if you plan to travel just stay calm even if your plane will be delayed.
