Stimulus plan helped teachers.
by Milota Sidorova

It’s been exactly 12 months since the first stimulus plan has been launched and 8 months after President Obama signed the second round of hundreds billion dollar support to American economy. It’s time to check out the results, the effect of the greatest financial supply. Here we come to one of the most important aspects – the employment or how many jobs have been spared or created from the plan and whether it had had the considerable effects? Some of the report came out on Monday saying the plan saved tens of thousands of teaching positions and boosted demand for construction professions. The exact data, however won’t be available at least for a month. Despite Saturday’s deadline for the states to submit the numbers, it won’t be accessible for public. Are you asking for a reason? According Washinghton officials, so far the White House hadn’t been getting the right data. The method to count the total number of jobs is not simply co! unting partial inputs. Washinghton has been reporting also jobs created or spared by tax cuts or another governmental tools. That doesn’t include jobs caused by the plan. There’s also a method for counting part time jobs or summer jobs. 40 hours a week summer worker will be counted as one fourth of normal job position, part time worker or researcher will remain half a job. This way the numbers will be adjusted and decline. As revised, teachers took advantage from the stimulus – so far, California reported 62,000 teaching positions, Michigan about 19,500, states of Missouri and Minnesota saved 8,500 and 5,900 school jobs. Utah reported 2,600 spared or created positions. Government will revise also construction jobs and the sum of another professions. The final report will be available the soonest the next month.
