Online Shopping Has Its Fans
by Jana Passova
Many young people from all over the world are still more interested in shopping on Internet. Online shopping is cheaper, less boring and customers can shop and on the same time be at home. They can choose from more sources, compare more types of goods, don't have to go to mall earlier to avoid crowds and more often is prize lover than in a real shop. The problem is still safety of that kind of shopping. The Pew Internet and American Life Project reported results of their study on Wednesday. According to this project 62 percent of all Web users who are under 30 consider the Internet to best place to find good deals. Only 32 percent of users in the age of 65 or older think the same. Younger users assume that online shopping is more comfortable. The result might be habit. The older people maybe feel better when they are able to see, smell and touch goods they want to buy. This old-fashioned way of doing shopping is more convenient for them. The generational gap is getting lost when online shopping users have to pay. 71 percent of younger users do not like giving credit and other personal information online. It is almost as high as 82 percent of older users. Only 34 percent of older users find online shopping more complicated than shopping in mall in comparison with 24 percent of younger users. The telephone-based study of 1,684 Internet users found out very similar numbers. It was organized from Aug. 3 to Sept. 5. Results of these studies mean a chance also for companies as SigEx Telecom.
