One couldn’t put a list of things that are the most important, but in the grouping like a society is, discussing among ourselves is a key factor for the lives improvement. The exchange of energy and ideas certainly brings benefits to the modern world. And this especially goes to countries that are developed and that discuss through the way of huge figures. For the United States of America, the big economical growth that China has in these few years make the country pretty frustrated and nervous. But, by ou! tfacing one can’t make a step forward out of these complexes. Obama’s administration got the message that it should talk more with the Chinese “friends” if they want to improve their export-import balance. Representatives from the both countries are gathering in the U.S. capital. Some hundred Chinese experts and politicians led by the Vice Premier Wang Qishan are going to the U.S.A. But the transpacific talks of the U.S. officials two days later are going to be transferred to transatlantic ones. The considered country is going to talk to economical representatives from the European Union. Who would think that there would be a day when this giant power would ask for European help? U.S. and China meet each year on a Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade, where they try to share their economical interests. One of U.S. points this time would be to try to convince the Chinese to relax a bit the export restraints on rare earth minerals that are used in h! igh-tech industries.

Government leaving Citigroup shares by Milota Sidorova
After a long silence, there are news coming from the U.S. Treasury this week. Government basically agreed to end its partial ownership of remaining shares on Citigroup Inc. It reported they were sold for $4.35 each that would create approximately $12 billion gross profit for „taxpayers“. The fact is U.S. government injected more than $45 billion into Citigroup in 2008 as a part of more than $700 billion bailout. According to Tim Massad, Treasury acting assistant secretary for financial stability exiting government ownership meant meeting goals of recovering TART funds created to save „sinking“ financial institutions in times of breaking crisis. Citi! group paid back $20 billion in preffered stock and transferred $25 billion to 7.7 billion of common shares owned by Treasury. And Treasury kept decreasing its share in Citigroup during months – from 27 percent to less than 7 percent this year. The shares were sold via markets. Although Government presented $12 billion gain as a huge success, it couldn't specify the buyer of these shares. Citigroup withdrawal comes after last month's public offering in General Motors Corp. GM reduced government's stake in its shares. So far, the company released statement in which it expressed its agreement and thanks for „the support provided by the Treasury (mean taxpayers) during the financial crisis.“ Shares were expected to be closed around December 10 and the whole transaction was run by Morgan Stanley as bookrunning manager. Citigroup paid transaction fees. And although it seems Citigroup is free from Government, the Treasury continues to hold warrants to purchase i! ts shares that were part of bailout. In this case, they may be! repurch ased by Citigroup later or sold for an additional profit.

Motorola Inc. is breaking into two companies with split program and product lines. Although Motorola is the seventh biggest cellphone seller last three years were not that business success, in fact the company went into the zone of green lights only the last quarter between July and October 2010. But in 2007, the situation was completely different – Motorola was the second largest phone seller, but couldn't hold the pace with upcoming rivals like Apple or Research in Motion – companies that relied on trendy smartphones. iPhones and BlackBerries are the biggest income source for these companies. The break-up is nothing surprising, the plans dated back to 2008 an! d the company was meant to complete the separation by 2009. The financial conditions were not favorable so it remained solid. But after Dec. 21 shareholders will receive shares in both new-born companies – Motorola Mobility that should be focused in the consumer business and Motorola Solutions that will specialize on professional business. The reason for break-up is explained as „presenting two simple stories“ to investors rather than one complicated one. Shareholders will receive one share in Motorola Mobility for eight shares in Motorola Solutions. But the parental company will rename into Motorola Solutions. Motorola however, won't split its core part, because the division that makes network equipment for cell phone companies is going to be sold to Nokia Siemens Networks, a Finnish-German joint venture. Details of the contract and the contract itself should be known before the end of the year. The history of Motorola set back into 1930s when it started ! as a car radio manufacturer.

Spoločnosť Motorola včera ohlásila, že sa v budúcom roku rozdelí na dve spoločnosti s rozdielnou stratégiou a produktovými líniami. Motorola je v súčasnosti siedmym najväčším výrobcom mobilných telefónov, avšak posledné tri roky nezaznamenala očakávaný obchodný úspech. Počas takmer 36 mesiacov, akcie spoločnosti klesali, výnimku tvoril posledný štvrťrok (Júl-Október 2010). Myšlienka rozdeliť spoločnosť podľa všetkého nebola nová – plány na rozdelenie v! znikli už v roku 2008, pričom celá separácia mala prebehnúť do konca roka 2010. Pre ekonomický neúspech sa konatelia spoločnosti rozhodli rozdelenie oneskoriť. V roku 2007 bola Motorola druhým najväčším hráčom na trhu s mobilnými telefónmi, postupom času však nedokázala konkurovať rýchlo meniacim sa spoločnostiam ako Apple alebo Research in Motion. Na rozdiel od Motoroly dokázali veľmi rýchlo spropagovať líniu tzv. „chytrých“ telefónov, ktoré dnes tvoria hlavnú časť ich ziskov. Motorola sa teda v budúcom roku zmení na klientsky orientovanú vetvu Motorola Mobility a Motorola Solutions, ktorej cieľovou skupinou sa stanú profesionáli a obchodníci. Dôvod pre rozdelenie bol interpretovaný ako snaha „ponúknuť investorom dva jednodu! ché, namiesto jedného, zložitého príb! ehu̶ 0;. Akcie spoločnosti sa začnú deliť 21 Decembra v pomere 1:8 – každá akcia Motorola Mobility bude vymenená za 8 akcií Motorola Solutions. Pôvodná firma zmení svoje meno na Motorola Solutions. Spoločnosť však nerozdelí časť, ktorá sa zaoberá výrobou sieťových komponentov pre výrobcov mobilných telefónov. Táto časť firmy bude kúpená fínsko-nemeckým konzorciom Nokia Siemens. Zmluva by mala byť podpísaná do konca roka 2010. História spoločnosti Motorola siaha do tridsiatych rokov dvadsiateho storočia, kedy na americký trh zavítala ako úspešná manufaktúra na rádia do automobilov.

Obama's administration took its word back and decided not to allow more drilling on the Gulf of Florida. The lesson is learned and we are not suppose to sacrifice, those are just the words that you might think of after reading the information. Unlike this statement, on last springtime, the same people gladly announced the drill, but that was understandably, because it happened right before the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. And not only that, the world still can not forget the British Petroleum oil spill which is the worst ecological disaster that has ever happened in the United States of America if not in the world too. Regulated with a law, the Congress has already put a ba! n on the drilling in the eastern gulf. Officials now think that there has to be more security and control on each drilling rig, so there wouldn't be new "stupidities" for the already stressed Americans. So now, not even for drilling, not even for studying, the Cost is simply sealed for the next five years. But, how will U.S. fix the basic problem with the oil supply? Maybe already plans to star a new war, who knows? "In light of the BP spill, we've learned a lot and understand the need to elevate the safety and environmental standards. We took a second look at the announced plan and modified it to remove the Eastern Gulf of Mexico from leasing consideration" - says an anonymous official. The Congress's moratorium came four years ago as an agreement with the State of Florida. One of the biggest fears for this touristic country is the possible damaging of their precious beaches, that bring a lot of money to people.
