American president celebrated his first year as the country's no.1 man. People however didn't share his optimism. Anyway, there was no reason. According the polls the popularity of Barack Obama declined almost 50 percent past year. More than 55 percent of American citizen believed the president didn't fulfill more than one fifth of his pre-election promises. He didn't bring the soldiers back from the Middle East, instead he sent there more. He didn't shut down the Guantanamo prison in time, the unemployment reached the historical maximum during his presidency. What has been accomplished was the health care reform, although seen as controversial.There may be a huge difficult! ies however, because Republicans are getting the new vote in the Congress. After almost 50 years of Democratic governance a Republican Senator won in the state of Michigan. Scott Brown got the position of recently passed Edward Kennedy. This is a crucial vote for both sides – Senator Brown has a strict and clear mission – to back all Obama's proposals. President has to change the strategy. With the democratic majority, he had more influential word in the Congress. Strategists suggest president will focus on the topic that Republican fear the most to solve. It is the job growth, the issue that hasn't been improved not by Obama himself.Today, maybe we are the witnesses of slow political change within the U.S. But personally, I don't believe that. One advantage can be more equality in the Government and kind of more revision put on Democratic party. The disadvantage that is highly probable is the slowing down the process.If the politicians start their usual game &#! 8211; party against the party, declared by media, there won't ! be even political will to solve anything. The image and illusion of parties will be seen only in media, but in the reality, most of them are of one kind. Question is, whether American citizen can choose from a less evil.
