Health insurance and no tax increase
by Silvia Szarkova
President Barack Obama is facing an enourmous challenging speeches these days, as he is trying to sell his health care plan- insurance for everybody and lowering the costs. He has become te first president ever to appear on five Sunday network shows in the same morning, as the network interview was taken on Friday at the White House. But also the communication challenge gives him opportunity, to explain everybody, that requiring people to get health insurance and fining them for not doing this way, is definetely not a tax increase. „ I absolutely reject that notion, “ presidents says. „ What i tis saying is, is that we are not going to have other people c! arrying your burdensfor you anymore. Right now everybody in America, just about, has to get auto insurance. Nobody considers that a tex increase. “ Health care system changing is a key priority of Obama. Also he promised to not raise taxes on families earning up to 250, 000 dollars. He believes that those hundreds of billions of dollars in the next 10 years can be saved just by making the current system more efficient. Michael Steele, chairman of Republican National Committee, thinks there is no way for him to reach his goals without increasing the taxes. Yet, thru many weeks of speeches, Obama thinks, it is still hard to explain people and persuade them for his goal. But he has his own attitude for the stronh opposition: „ Well, part of it is...that the opposition has made a decision. They are just not going to support anything, for political reasons. “
