SigEx Telecom : Google offers site-specific search for businesses
by Delia Cruceru

The search giant announced the launch of its Custom Search Engine in the paid version, now called Google Custom Search Business Edition, with prices starting from $100 per year to $15.000 per year or even more for websites with many queries, and it is ad free. It includes an XML application programming interface (API) which makes it easy for customizing search result presentation, technical support, and the ability to display search results under the company's own logo rather than Google's logo. Nitin Mangtani, lead product manager for Google's Enterprise Search group said: “Customers spend an enormous amount of time and money building their Web sites, most of these sites are lacking is search." "There are a lot of legitimate businesses which spend money on bringing visitors to the Web site and they want search results but no ads," Mangtani explained. "And they want support. They need somebody to talk to, especially companies with no IT." For using Google Custom Search Engine Business Edition it doesn’t require any hardware or setup, it’s only necessarily to go to a specific Web Page, set up the search engine and generating four lines of HTML code for the home page, and this process takes about 10 minutes.
