Fed up with all those back and forth moves
by Barbora Misakova
Month or two ago we could read and hear that U.S. economy won’t recover so quickly and easily as we thought. It was quite surprise, as everyone was thinking that the whole crisis is over and we can start again. That was the reason why everyone started panic. We also heard that job rates will be dangerously low and they can reach even more than 10 percent. However shortly after this news we heard something else; we heard that the opposite is true. The information was that economy is actually recovering very quickly and the unemployment is going to be slowed down. But then we heard again that it is not truth, and that it is just too optimistic view of some economic ana! lysts. And now Senior White House economists are predicting ANOTHER recovery and boost of employment which should start (at least according to them) by spring. All I have to say is that I am already fed up and I don’t want to hear about economy another 6 or 7 years. Or I would recommend at least no talking about job rates and economic reactivating until next year. Actually all this information is spread just for one thing: to persuade and woo back people as they are the ones who can influence the 2010 congressional elections. Obama’s supporters are catching at straws just to back him up. They see in November’s jobless rate, which is lower that month ago, clear signal that economy is convalescing. Even though the numbers are positive, we should be realistic. And we should stop changing our minds from one day to another as it can have very negative effect on potential voters. Just think what would happen, if all the voters were as fed up with all this econom! y back and forth moves as I am.
