Sustainable lifestyle or the greatest lie you have been told
by Milota Sidorova

Oh yes. When there is nothing better to do, offer your customer a product. Make him buy, doesn’t matter the costs. Yesterday night, I have done my decision to not to buy car for next fifteen years. To explain my thought I have to say I am the student of sustainable development and ecological economy and there is one disconnection. The oil peak. Yes, we all know that one day this all is gonna end, but it will be approximately in 15 years. So who care? That’s the general opinion. But one needs to explain the oil production doesn’t work like you’re pumping till the last drop. Once you reach the peak, every another barrel of extracted liquid is more dif! ficult, costing more energy and money. That means the less quality oil for continuously increasing prize. And it’s neither a fairy tale, nor the pessimistic vision. Better check out more academic and science studies. Believe me, your politicians won’t tell you about coming eclipse. Neither the retailer does. When we come to the next step from oil, one has to realize how many connection the oil has. It’s the engine fuel for generating electricity, making plastics, chemicals, food and transportation. Everything will be more costing from now on – we have already seen the price sky jump on food. The truth is, the natural sources (for oil, food and water) are running out. We have to use more technologies to assure our basic needs. Personally I don’t believe there will be any wise technology saving us life a magic wand. There won’t be any – because there’s not enough political and economical will to switch the green light for it.! Imagine, we could drive Tatamotor’s compressed air fuel! ed car. With no oil, no supply and all this would cost us twenty times less than our current vehicle. This car is driven and produced in India, but there have been strictly business restrictions to stop the car from going on world markets. We look at hydrogen almost like to a Divine one. The truth is, the hydrogen costs more energy to create it, than it can produce. Anyway, its creation is fully dependant on oil. Well, see another black loop. When you consider, the world will never get so much energy for such small money, you have to be sure, the golden age is over. For me, it won’t be the problem. I am vegetarian, working at home, having all necessary within walking distance. I buy at local food producers and I make a lot of effort to buy only their products. I also have parent’s house growing some foods. However, the thing won’t be that easy. Because as soon, as the prices hit the sky, there will be more violence than ever. Protests, ban, revolutions. Just bec! ause we ran out of our cheap energy sources. Look at the middle East and the U.S. Do you really believe, American government would make a no.1 priority to invade distant desert and its citizens, just because of saving democracy that in fact has never been there? It’s just because of the oil sources. And it’s not afraid of using violence, military power, its own human lives to fight for the profits of limited group of bankers and politicians. When you consider all this, you realize it’s a bloody necessity to rethink the real values. Lower the scale of your ambitions and needs. Start to think about what you’re buying and consider the future usage of it. It’s a necessity to behave responsible. While there’s still a time.
