Chris Cantell Discusses Business: SigEx Ventures : CIAA depune plangere impotriva ligilor sportive

Computer & Communications Industry Association (CIAA), un grup comercial cu membrii ca Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Redhat si altii care promoveaza "o piata deschisa, sisteme deschise, si plin, corect, si deschis competitiei" a depus o plangere la Comisia Federala de Comert plangandu-se ca doua mari ligi profesionale de sport si alte patru corporatii "incalca drepturile de utilizare corecta a utilizatorului sub incidenta legii drepturilor de autor a SUA".Plangerea CIAA este impotriva NFL, Ligii de Baseball, NBC Universal, Morgan Creek, Dreamworks, Harcourt Inc. si Penguin Group, acuzandu-i de prezentare gresita a drepturilor consumatorilor de a folosi materiale cu drepturi de autor.Ed Black, presedintele CIAA spune ca avertizarile din emisii, carti si DVD-uri sunt "nu pentru a educa consumatorii, dar pentru a-i intimida. Anumite avertizari induc in eroare consumatorii"."Nici un mesaj inselator nu e raspandit mai larg, mai universal, mai omniprezent in vasta noastra natiune decat acest avertisment care iti spune ca nu ai drepturi".CIAA vrea ca Comisia Federala de Comert sa opreasca aceste organizatii a mai folosi aceste avertismente care incalca drepturile oamenilor si sa vina cu un nou plan pentru a tine la distanta aceste prezentari gresite de la a se mai intampla din nou precum si un model de avertisment care sa fie mai "exact, echilibrat si consistent cu toate prevederile Actului Drepturilor de Autor al SUA si Actul Comisiei Federale de Comert" pentru a educa consumatorii in legatura cu drepturile lor.
