Chris Cantell Discusses Business: Should the money spoil the hockey players
All of us use to dream of earning a lot of money. We assume that if we do earn a lot of money, our productivity will increase, at least a little. But in the field of hockey players it apparently works the other way. It is easy to say, that money will not influence me or my attempt to get better in what I am, in what I'm doing, but it's harder to achieve it.The statistics of improvement of hockey players show that amongst of the three players, who earn 10 thousand dollars a month, get improved just one player, Scott Gomez. Scott Gomez was the only one hockey player, who climbed from the 78th position up to 35th position in the season. In comparison to Daniel Briere and Thomas Vanek, who both dropped their position in this years season even though they both earn 10 thousand dollars, Scott Gomez leads in the improving of productivity. The best earning hockey players turned to the worst hockey players in the season. Only two hockey clubs gained a profit of this, Ottawa and Detroit, which did not buy a lot of players during the summer. Ottawa and Detroit are much more precise in paying money to the players, they would rather see the positive results.
