Automakers affliction from February

Automakers receive the immerse in February as the majority of customers abated their demand due to the increased gas prices as well as the feasible recession. The U.S. automakers suffered very much especially in their highly profitable car sectors, such as trucks, sport utilities and large sedans. This sale drop mainly bothers the car companies like General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co. Both autoproducers announced that there was a decline in the February sales. General Motors stated their sales plunged 13 percent. Ford Motor reported 7 percent drop only if it were compared to General Motors. The highest descent of 14 percent was noticed in Chrystler. Toyota's sales slanted by 3 percent.According to Autodata Corp. if the sales form February maintains at this level, it will accumulate 15.4 million units only. This is substantial fall than it was last year, when the sales were 16.6 million units.If the General Motors compared the excellent retail sales from February 2007, it would be really a tough comparison to do. In the second quarter the company cut its production to 1.08 million vehicles by 5 percent.The announcement from Toyota Motor says that the car dales decreased 4 percent in the previous Amonth, where 30 percent slump was seen in Avalon full-size sedan, 25 percent fall in LS 460 sedan, which is a part of Lexus division.As Jesse Toprak, the chief analyst for the auto information site www.edmunds.com, the producers' response is to develop as high incentive spending as possible and in addition to this, this way of behaviour is expected furthermore throughout the summer.
