Money or climate changes?
by Barbora Misakova
Economy and money & they are the most important things in the world and everyone is trying to make it stable and have them as much as it is possible. That's why are money usually invested in such areas of industry which are gainful such as energy, technology and carbon markets. But are all those earned money more than healthy conditions for living on our planet? There is still more appeals on governments to give more and bigger investments towards environmentally-sustainable industries, which do not have such big impact on climate changes. Governments are probably realizing this fact and that's why they invested in renewable energy in 2006 $ 52 billion, and in 2007 ever more 66 billion dollars! These days are the largest recipients of capital internet, biotechnology and so-called "cleantech". Cleantech is a technology which improves energy efficiency and reduces pollution. Cleantech is so-called green business because it helps to approve situation with climate changes. That's why there are still more and more "money-bags" putting into it. Also China gave higher investments into cleantech & between 2005 and 2006 it jumped 147 %. As Gary Gardner and Thomas Prugh, co-directors from Worldwatch said: "...environmental problems are drastically rewriting the rules for business, investors and consumers" and climate changes as they are touching every single person living on this planet are more important than anything else. Every government and every living person on the Earth should take care and be interested in what's going on with our planet. Everyone's life depends on climate conditions.
